From the informational tape
Business manager Jamie Gniadek speaking.
As most active members have heard by now, long time Business manger of our Local, Dave Keating is stepping away after 17 years of service. Dave has accepted a job as an International representative with the IBEW, where he’ll share his knowledge of successful business practices with other locals throughout New England. Dave’s leadership, dedication and service to this local over the past 17 years have seen numerous contracts and contract extensions, that helped deliver benefits to this membership that are tops in our industry, we wish Dave best of luck in his new endeavor.
For those of you who don’t know me, again, my name is Jamie Gniadek, I started my career at Brooks st. in Worcester as an SST. I’ve served on our E-Board for 12 years as Worcester Unit chair, Treasurer, President and Assistant Business Manager. I’m looking forward to continuing to serve this local and our members with the same dedication and passion as our past leaders have shown.
My first order of business was to appoint a new assistant business manager, and I did so by naming Joeseph Zahn an SST and longtime E-Board member out of the Foxborough garage. Joe has been a dedicated steward to this local, involving himself in charitable work and organizing, and I along with our E-Board believe he was the right person for the job, congratulations Joe!
I’d also like to congratulate Jeremiah Porier, who was elected unanimously by our E-Board to become the next President of our local. Jeremiah has been an SST and OPT throughout his career, and as anyone that has worked with Jay knows, when someone needs something done, Jay steps in, like he did when we had a vacancy in the E-Board years ago, So congratulations Jay.
With all of the recent movement, the local has an opening for the at large seat on the executive board committee. Anyone interested in filling the vacancy please email me with your intent at JGniadek@ibew2325.com by May 26th.
