The Company has been conducting random safety rides throughout the Local. They are usually unannounced. They are checking to see if jobsites are set up correctly and if technicians have and know how to use their PPE correctly. Do not leave the garage in the morning without all your updated PPE. Safety is our responsibility, do not cut corners and work with defective or missing equipment. Do not let your manager off the hook. If you don’t have the proper safety equipment then you cannot work safely.
The New England Work and Family committee is once again offering Summer Camp reimbursement for dependents of IBEW members. Any dependent that goes to an approved Summer Camp could yield a reimbursement of up to $200 per week for a maximum of 4 weeks. The camp timeframe is June 22nd to August 30th and is available for children ages 5-17. This information and documents can be found on the Work and Family website. This is a great program that is free of charge and assists our members with difficult financial costs. The money used in this fund is bargained for during contract negotiations. This is a benefit that we fight for each bargaining year so take advantage of it.
