The Company is declaring a surplus under the provisions of Article G25 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Company will offer the provisions of an Enhanced Income Protection Plan (EIPP) to regular employees in the surplus job titles at the work locations involved. EIPP offers will be distributed to the affected employees by June 2, 2014. An employee’s election to accept the offer must be in writing and transmitted to the Company within fifteen days from the date of the offer. The decision is irrevocable after such fifteen-day period which is (June 16, 2014). The off property date for those accepted volunteers will be June 28, 2014. This IPP A has closed and preliminary reports have said there were approximately 18 volunteers New England wide.

There is a total of 381 surplus in New England in 15 job titles. In Local 2325 there is a total surplus of 63. The surplus titles and locations for this Local are as follows:

2 in Foxboro

2 in Ayer

5 in Boylston

14 In Framingham

8 in Lunenburg

The Company will be offering IPP B’s in specific job titles and locations throughout New England. AA’s in Medway will receive the first IPP B on June 18th. This IPP B will be emailed to them electronically and not mailed to their homes. The volunteer period for this IPP B will be July 2nd with an off property no later than July 27th. Volunteers to any IPP B will only be accepted if a qualified replacement from other surplus titles and locations can replace them. When and if a replacement is found volunteers to the IPP B will be released by seniority.

The Company has notified the Union that other titles and locations will also be receiving an IPP B. At this time we do not have those titles or locations. When we are notified we will update this tape.

A reminder to all technicians that it is not required and it is not recommended to take your company issued tablet home. These tablets are the property of the Company and we will not be responsible for them after our shift ends. These tablets are also monitored for data usage and can be tracked. Do not take them home.

The New England Work and Family  committee is once again offering  Summer Camp reimbursement for dependents of IBEW members. Any dependent that goes to an approved Summer Camp could yield a reimbursement of up to $200 per week for a maximum of 4 weeks. The camp timeframe is June 22nd to August 30th and is available for children ages 5-17. This information and documents can be found on the Work and Family website. This is a great program that is free of charge and assisst our members with difficult financial costs. The money used in this fund is bargained for during contract negotiations. This is a benefit that we fight for each bargaining year so take advantage of it.
